FBI tracked 'fake news' believed to be from Russia on Election Day

An article was posted on August 4, 2017, by CNN. The CNN Washington was auditing social media due to the Russian disinformation campaign that was exploiting as fake news. The news source was analyzing the social media around the election last year. CNN claims that social media such as Facebook and Twitter was exploiting conspiracies about Hilary Clinton. From our knowledge of the news being presented on social media, the front page of a newspaper or on TV that President Trump claims that CNN writes fake news about himself. President Trump also claims that CNN is to be "democratic" and was on Hilary Clinton's side the whole time during the election. (Could be true could not be true.) It would be an opinion decision on what to believe. To continue from the article, on the Election day multiple sources have stated that many agents and analysts were at the Command Center watching the monitoring screens in the FBI headquarters to be on the lookout for any threats that could happen. According to the article, the FBI did not want to comment further on this story. But from reliable sources, this did indeed occur. The FBI analysts were watching the social media that were being behind the stories, and even the accounts were based overseas. According to another reliable source that is in the same investigation thought the accounts had an association with the Russian disinformation campaign. The FBI has claimed that it was "uncomfortable territory" because of the First Amendment speech protection even for the "fake news" that was being published. Lastly, on the Election day, top officials were distributing congratulations not to have issues with the votes. An Obama White House official had responded with a comment back with quite the opposite view stating the US Government response to the Russians operations, “a failure of imagination."

  1. Wow, your website is awesome! How did you get that background!? I knew my site and blog looked boring and plain but it's nothing compared to this!

I assume it's an HTML thing?

Anyway, I love your article it's a fun read. I've been going back and forth into this whole issue.
As to what really happened here, who knows? I personally think it gives light to the cluster F*** that is our government and it shows that we as people - in general - have no idea what we're doing and we're playing my ear.

    1. I watched a YouTube video for the background! It was really easy to do! The article I thought it was interesting just because of the “fake news” and Russia. In the article it didn’t really specify what had happened other then US suspected Russia making fake social media accounts and spreading “fake news.”
